On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM, the Stefano Saccani flagship store, located at Borgo Giacomo Tommasini 7/A in Parma, will host the presentation of "Le immagini del profumo," Matteo Fumagalli's new book, published by L'ippocampo Edizioni. During the event, the author will engage in a conversation with writer and popularizer Renata Gorreri.

 

"Le immagini del profumo" offers an alternative and highly intimate approach to the fascinating and complex perfumery industry, which has been experiencing an extraordinary boom in recent years. Breaking the mold of traditional perfumery, Fumagalli invites readers—from experts to the simply curious—to find their ideal fragrance, starting with the visual and emotional suggestions they evoke, even before their olfactory pyramid.

 

Enriched with illustrations by artist Daniele Catalli, the volume traces a free-flowing journey through three hundred fragrances divided into eight imaginary worlds, capable of giving shape to profound contrasts such as "Darkness" and "Light," "Eros" and "Thanatos," or "City" and "Landscape."

 

The work also features technical paratexts, a concise glossary, and invaluable testimonials from renowned international noses and creative directors, including Serge Lutens, Jean-Claude Ellena, and Meo Fusciuni, who share their personal poetics.

 

Matteo Fumagalli works in publishing as a Communications Manager and teaches History of Cinema at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA) in Milan. Since 2016, he has combined his work as a cultural disseminator on social media with a unique olfactory narrative, where scent is constantly intertwined with cinematic and literary aesthetics.

 

Following the presentation, the author will meet readers for a book signing. Admission to the presentation is free.
